2020 Great Taste Awards

Stars for Bodger’s Barley Wine and John Hampden’s Ale in Britain’s premiere food & drink awards!

Winning at The Great Taste Awards has become a way of life for Bodger’s Barley Wine and we are honoured that 2020 sees another win for our brilliant barley wine!

Achieving One-Star in the 2020 Great Taste Awards means that our golden chestnut ale has now won stars at SIX different Great Taste Awards, which we are very proud of and grateful that we have something further to celebrate in our 40th year of brewing.

Brewed with pale Maris Otter malt along with Fuggles & Goldings hops, Bodger’s Barley Wine is a true celebration of one of Britain’s most traditional strong beer styles.

It doesn’t end there… John Hampden’s Golden Harvest Ale has also won One-Star at The Great Taste Awards!

This is the fourth year that John Hampden’s Golden Harvest Ale has been honoured at The Great Taste Awards, truly commemorating the exceptional British pedigree  of this floral, hop-forward ale.

First brewed to celebrate the brewery’s fifteenth anniversary in 1995, John Hampden’s Golden Harvest Ale has only got better with age and makes for a rewarding pint in our 40th year of brewing.

Thank you to The Great Taste Awards for their kind comments on our beers and thank you to all of our loyal customers for your ongoing support, we look raising to a celebratory pint with you all soon… Cheers!
